Frequently Asked Questions
- How do you choose who gets listed on BACS.org?
- As the name suggests, this is the Boston A Cappella Scene, but groups from all over
Massachusetts can be found on this page. Also, groups in Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire,
Vermont, and (Northern) Connecticut can be listed on the page.
Basically, if a group wants to be listed, and they fall within the geographical area, I will list
them. Note that there is a terribly out of date New Hampshire CASA page.
I will not add: New York City and metro area groups. There is a NYAS page available for those groups.
- How do I get my group listed?
- I have a quick and painless form for both College/School Groups and Semi/Pro Groups which will take down all the information I need to list your group on the site. Once you're listed, you can add albums to your listing, and your next gigs will be listed next to your group's information.
- My group has an album. How do I list it? Where do I find out how to sell it?
- We are now again listing albums on bacs.org Go to the College/School Groups or Semi/Pro Groups pages, and select your group. At the bottom of each group, there is a place to "update your info". From there, you can add albums to your group. As for selling your albums, take a look at Suppliers/Distributors on our Resources Page
- How can I get my gigs listed?
- Easy: Post them to MusiCal. You can use my handy dandy Submission Form
to post them or go directly to the MusiCal Home Page
and navigate from there. When you post something, I'll get a notice of it and add it to
the calendar page. Be sure to follow instructions for submission very carefully.
If you have any doubts as to whether you're doing it right, enter my email
webmaster @ bacs.org, as the originating e-mail. If this seems TOO complicated, just get
all the gig info to me, including time and ticket info, and I'll post it.
- The contact info for a group is missing. How can I contact them?
- You know, I ask myself the same question. Some of the groups on this site were
inherited from previous lists, and so may not exist anymore. I have marked them with
the
graphic so that you know that I haven't gotten
good info from them in a good long while. I appreciate any updates or pointers you
may have. Some schools have no links to their student organizations, or the orgs
themselves haven't developed home pages. Generally, I try to tackle the list two
to three times a year to make sure that the info is correct.
- How do I get a group started? How do I place audition notices?
- If you want some advice on what to do to get your group started, take a look at
Getting Your Group Started, a page I set up when I got
tired of answering that question.
